Ethereum Classic (ETC) has the long term vision of PoW within original Ethereum design. ArcBlock will continuously support ETC ecosystem and we will NOT support any PoW fork of Ethereum. ArcBlock joined ETC DAO early this month, and we will work with other DAO members to make ETC stronger than ever.

What is Ethernet Classic?

Ether Classic is an open source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform with smart contract capabilities. It provides a decentralized Turing-complete virtual machine, the Ether VM, which can execute scripts using a network of virtual machine nodes around the world. In the wake of the DAO hack, a large majority of the Ether community decided to hard fork Ether to recoup the financial losses and reputation of investors. A hard fork is a split and disagreement that occurs when the community decides not to follow the same protocol on the same blockchain. As a result, the Ether blockchain underwent a hard fork when the block height reached 192,000 to refund investors' losses from the DAO attack. As a result of the hard fork, transactions prior to the hack became invalid, forming a new version of the blockchain. A small number of users opposed the hard fork, so they continued to use the old blockchain and called themselves "Ether Classic".

How do I add an ETC to my DID Wallet?

It is very easy to add ETC to your DID Wallet, just go to the chain management page and open the chain of ETC.

add-etc

After opening the ETC chain, the corresponding account will be added automatically and you can then use the wallet to manage the assets of your ETC account.

More support for ETC in the future

We will do more development and support to ETC ecology in the future, we plan to introduce DID in ETC ecology and better NFT support based on DID and VC.
