Beijing hackers show their brainpower by creating 11 DApps in 6 hours

ArcBlock held it's first hackathon in Asia hosting an event in downtown Beijing. The event was very successful with more than 10 teams competing and 60+ competitors from leading companies throughout Beijing. "We are both excited and happy to be hosting our first hackathon event in Beijing. The DApps that were created during the event surpassed our expectations, and the feedback we received was very positive. While we are always looking for ways to improve our platform for developers, we are also thrilled with the results. Several of the competitors are already using ArcBlock's blockchain development tools in projection and the ability to create a DApp in less than 5 hours far surpasses the industry average." said Robert Mao, CEO of ArcBlock. "Every event we hold moves us closer to our goal of revolutionizing how blockchain apps and services get created and demonstrating how simple the entire development process can be."

All of the event participants received specialized ArcBlock and Blockchain training including a walk through on leading blockchains Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as ArcBlock's innovative OCAP Playground and OCAP services.

During the presentation, VP of Engineering Tyr Chen also showcased the core components of ArcBlock's system that represent next-generation development tools that remove the costly burden of building blockchain-based services and apps by ensuring fast performance, flexible use of technology and GraphQL to provide a consistent and unified approach to the different blockchain ecosystems.

The winning applications were selected for the event and each winning team received a prize and the congratulations of their peers. The three winning applicastions were:

• King of Bitcoin - A Wechat APP to display and share bitcoin balance between friends
• Bit Song - An app that transforms ArcBlock OCAP data into music
• Volution - An app that predicts Bitcoin price rise and fall by using neural network learning
